Update 1: The 2012 Challenge

Three months down of 2012, and how far am I into my 2012 challenge? Not far enough. My year's goal - to beat all form of Kingdom Hearts, excluding re:Com (as it was never released over here) has barely been cracked, with only Birth By Sleep beaten so far. I've decided to put some more effort in starting today, and I've opened new save files on both Kingdom Hearts 2 and 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts games generally aren't too difficult, but this year is my last at school, so I've had a bit to balance so far. My last half-yearly exam is in two days, then two weeks of holidays await me. I'm hoping to get through quite a bit in those two weeks. Progress update below the cut! What I'm Playing: March Edition

Although March is over, I thought I'd update you guys on what captured my attention last month. I bought a few games, although not as many as I'd like (that's impossible) and played some old ones too.

A Month In Gaming; February 2012

Wooo! This is officially my first monthly update post. I was gonna make one for January, since I bought about 30 games + new consoles and finished some great games, but with school starting back up, I never got around to it. I found a few spare hours though for this month, so here we go!

Countdown: PSVita

In less than a week now, the PSVita will hit Australian shores, and I'm grabbing it on launch day. I've paid it off, bought a memory card, preordered two games (Dungeon Hunter Alliance and Katamari) and downloaded some PSP games off the store to fill up the 16GB card with (sadly, Australia didn't get the 32GB.)

Over here, it launches on the 23rd, along with a ton of other games I want to get (sadly, I'm only getting Catherine, in addition to my Vita and games). I'll review it once it gets here, but until then, adieu (and happy gaming!)

Mini-Review // Final Fantasy XIII-2

As I placed my new copy of Final Fantasy XIII-2 in the disc tray of my PS3, I expected an experience similar to my many others in the realms of Ivalice, Midgar, Spira, Cocoon and Pulse (of course) and the many others. A fantastic experience, none the less but still inadvertently similar.

How wrong I was.

Hello all! It's back to school now for my final year, so homework's coming in thick and fast. Not enough time for gaming (is there ever?)

I'm playing Final Fantasy XIII-2 at the moment and loving it. Expect a review soon, but for now I'm just playing and admiring my awesome Crystal Editions.

I'm redownloading WOW and have decided to give it another go. My first experience was slightly... marred by the friends I was playing with, who meant well but I had no idea what I was doing as the ran me through millions of quests in seconds. (They were level 80's.)

Finally, the PSVita is almost upon us and I'm very excited, not just for the new experiences but also for the ability to play all of the psClassics I've downloaded on it! (Yes, I could play them on my PSP. No, I don't know why I never have.)

Updates // Jan 26

Hi again! It's Australia Day over here, but rather then a holiday, I'm mostly doing homework. My Multimedia major project is coming along slowly but surely, and my research for females in gaming is going great thanks to all my survey respondants.

I bought my new Xbox last night, one of the slim black models. I'm really happy with it! But due to some complications, I had to make a new profile, meaning my gamerscore is back at 0. But I'll get it back up high soon! I also bought my character the FFXIII Lighting outfit - I couldn't resist.

Updates // Jan 25

In six days I go back to school. Which means tons of work to do, and less time to play games. I have finished four games this month so far though (Fable 3, ACR, KHBBS, Crisis Core) so I'm not completely behind. Backlog-wise though, I have bought 29 games this month, which doesn't help reduce the pile of shame.

Despite its release, I have yet to play much of the new FFXIII-2 demo. In a few days I cam go pick up my Crystal Editions though! Can't wait for the cool stuff in those. I haven't preordered the hardcover guide though, so they might run out D:

I'm planning on buying a new 360 in a few days (one of the slims) because I want the wireless, and my current Xbox sounds like a mix between a chainsaw and a dying cat when I turn it on. It's probably gonna blow soon. Apart from that, not much else in gaming news.
